Frequently Asked Questions

1. What types of dresses do you have?
All types! Dresses that have a lot of bling and dresses that are more simple. Short classic dresses that will work well for a business event and others that will work well for a fancy party. Floor length dresses of all colors and sizes and styles. Dresses that are brand new with tags and some that have been worn. Brand new 2020 spring styles from Jolene and Mac Duggal.

2. What's the advantage of buying over renting? What's the advantage of renting over buying?
Buying a dress will truly make it your own. You can have it tailored to fit your body perfectly. Renting a dress will save you  money. If you know you will only wear the dress once and don't want it hanging in your closet never to be worn again, renting is a great option.

3. What do your dresses cost?
The dresses I have in stock from the 2020 Jolene and Mac Duggal spring lines typically range from $300 to $400. Cocktail dresses range from $200 to $300. Rental costs vary greatly. Short cocktail dresses rent from $10 to $60. Long formal dresses rent from $20 to $120.

3. How is the rental cost determined?
Cost is determined by a few factors. The most important factor is the quality of the dress. Price also is determined by how much it cost me to acquire the dress.

4. How does the rental process work?
You will come to the store to pick out your dress. It will be reserved for you for your special occasion. You pay for the dress at the time of the rental and pick it up up to three days before your event. It is due back two to three days after your event.

5. Do I need to clean the dress before I return it?
No, I take care of all the cleaning costs.

5. What happens if I damage a rental dress?
I will examine the dresses when they are returned. If there is a tear, a broken zipper or other damage, the renter will be sent a bill for the cost of the repair. If the dress is ruined beyond repair, the renter will be billed for the cost of the dress. It is important to be as cautious with the dress as you can while wearing it.

6. What happens if there is a rental dress I like but it doesn't quite fit me?
This is a common occurrence. Sometimes a dress fits well but the straps are too long, it needs a slight tuck, or it's too long. I will do my best to make simple, temporary alterations at no extra cost so that a rental dress will work for you. Many of the dresses in inventory are very long and there is a good chance they will need hemming. Many dresses can be hemmed fairly easily at no extra cost. Some dresses that are more difficult to hem and have multiple layers will require an additional fee to hem. Please bring shoes with heels similar to what you will be wearing at the event to gauge hem length.

7. How many dresses do you have and where have you gotten them?
I have more than 500 dresses and expect to continue to grow that number. The brand new dresses were purchased from designers Jolene and Mac Duggal. The first batch of rental dresses were purchased from the owner of another dress rental business that is no longer in the Lincoln area. The others were purchased through online wholesale markets or from local retailers. Some were donated to me.

7. I have dresses that I no longer want. Will you buy them from me? Can I donate them?
At this point I have a sufficient number of dresses that I have decided I will no longer buy used dresses from the public. I will accept and welcome donations.

8. What if I want to buy a dress and you don't have my size in stock?
I carry some of the 2020 line from Mac Duggal and Jolene but not every style and not every size. If I don't have your size I will order it. I am also able to order any style I do not have in stock.
